According to TMZ, Eva Mendes is battling substance abuse problem and has spent the past few weeks at one of the most respected treatment facilities in the country, Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah, where troubled actress Lindsday Lohan was treated last summer.

Although Eva’s publicist has confirmed she is seeking treatment, the spokesperson has refused to state the exact purpose of her stay.

Her rep says, “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva’s privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details.”

The 33-year-old Latino actress was recently hired as the new three-year face for an as-yet unnamed Calvin Kelin’s new perfume to be launched this fall.
